The Baldessa is part of a range of modestly priced 35mm viewfinder cameras, produced by Bald from c1957 into the late 1960s. The range has an unusual folding film advance key in the base, this needs a 180° turn after each shot to advance the film and reset the shutter. They also have a spring-out rewind crank, and a pop-out mirror on top to aid the battery powered separate drop-in flashbulb. An unusual design.
