The FED 2 range was a Leica derived (copy) camera built in soviet Ukraine between 1955 and circa 1970. There are 6 recognised variations: 2s, 2b, 2c, 2d (this one), 2L (the only factory model number) & 2e. They are, in the main, hand built, with parts matched to each camera. Not in the Leica quality league, but a well maintained FED can produce very good photos.
