The Olympus AZ-300 Superzoom (Infinity Zoom 300 in US, & IZM-300 elsewhere) is a bulky point and shoot that started the ‘bridge’ camera category. Ie, cameras that bridged the gap between SLRs and compact point & shoots. The bulk of the camera is down to the autofocus 12 element lens and a complex 6 element viewfinder. The ergonomics aren’t great, and Olympus advised 2 handed use! None of which stopped it winning the European Camera of the Year award in 1988.
